Hynt Membership Card Scheme, Managed Service
We provide a managed service for the Hynt Membership Card Scheme, from processing and managing applications to printing personalised ID cards and fulfilling cards directly to members’ homes.
About Hynt
Hynt is a national access scheme that works with theatres and arts centres across Wales to make sure there is a consistent offer available for visitors with an impairment or specific access requirement. It is an Arts Council of Wales Initiative, managed by Creu Cymru in partnership with Diverse Cymru.
For those that are eligible, the Hynt membership card provides a ticket free-of-charge for their essential companion, personal assistant or carer to be used at a participating venue.
MANAGING THE APPLICATION PROCESS AND CARD CO-ORDINATION
Administration
We have been working with Hynt since its inception in 2014, contributing to the technical setup of the scheme and now administering the scheme on their behalf.
We receive all applications for the scheme through a dedicated web portal and process them according to set eligibility criteria, whilst also providing a Hynt call centre with trained staff to answer queries and provide assistance.
Printing and Personalisation
We print personalised photo ID membership cards for applicants and then fulfil and mail them directly to members’ homes using our matching and mailing service.
We have issued approximately 26,000 Hynt cards since the scheme started.
THE IMPACT OF HYNT
In 2023, Hynt carried out wide reaching research with cardholders and stakeholders to understand the effectiveness and efficiency of the scheme.
In terms of providing access:
- 76% of cardholders said being part of Hynt improved their access to culture
- 89% would go to the theatre less without their Hynt card and 14% would not go at all
- 68% report that Hynt improves their physical access to venues
- 73% of cardholders report that Hynt has improved their quality of life.
